The First lab of GIS 312 was to produce a lab of my hometown. First I started with a basemap from Esri's online database. I then added 2 layers, one showing the ecology of Nepal and the other of Districts of Nepal with Elephants. I downloaded the layers from The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development and the facts from National Geographic. The insect map is also downloaded from Esri.

Blue to Pink color shows the ecology layer showing wide diversity in landscape, altitude, topography and temperature in the country. Elephants have long been part of Nepalese culture and tradition. The conservation of Elephants is a big part of the country, and the map shows protected reserves and habitat of these elephants.
